SIMONA AMERICA Supports Local Veterans Training Program
Company
Archbald, PA. As a sponsor of the Hiring for Heroes program, established by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Industrial Resource Center (NEPIRC), SIMONA AMERICA recently welcomed a group of veterans to its Archbald facility for a tour and meet and greet.
Hiring Our Heroes was established to prepare veterans for immediate placement within high-demand, well-paying manufacturing jobs. The entire program is available free of charge to local military veterans.
"From my perspective, we’re engaging our most honorable citizens and providing them opportunities to enter our region’s best industry," said NEPIRC President & CEO Eric Joseph Esoda. He added, "and we have employers waiting in the wings to interview and hire our veterans."
NEPIRC developed the 4-week curriculum based upon input from more than 30 regional manufacturers seeking to add to their workforce. As a result, a mix of technical and interpersonal skills, including Industrial Math, Blueprint Reading, Occupational Safety, Lean Manufacturing, Communication, Time Management, Embracing Diversity, CNC Basics, Machine Tool Basics and Machine Calibration will be covered in a blended adult-learner format of classroom time, simulation and application. The training also includes manufacturing plant tours and supplemental online learning.
The SIMONA AMERICA team is honored to be a part of this great organization and facilitate opportunities for some of our local veterans.
