SIMONA AMERICA Awarded 2017 IAPD Environmental and Marketing Excellence Awards

Archbald, PA. SIMONA AMERICA Inc. accepted two awards at this year’s International Association of Plastics Distribution Convention & Expo in Chicago, IL.

The IAPD Annual Awards Program was established to recognize members and associates of the International Association of Plastics Distribution who have demonstrated exceptional, extraordinary or outstanding service on behalf of the association and the plastics distribution industry.
SIMONA is beyond excited to have received two awards from IAPD this year. The Environmental Excellence Award recognizes the innovative or exemplary environmental responsibility by an IAPD member. SIMONA was recognized for its innovative warehouse lighting system, featuring an intelligent motion sensor lighting system, which regulates the lighting of the aisles depending on their occupancy which has resulted in a 15 percent reduction of electrical consumption. In addition, the facility launched a single stream recycling system, encouraging employee involvement in significantly reducing the amount of garbage sent to local landfills. The Marketing Excellence Award acknowledges the innovative or exemplary marketing initiatives by IAPD member firms. It is a special recognition for those companies that promote the positive benefits of plastics and leverage all the marketing tools available to them.
