SIMONA AMERICA at IBS 2014
Hazleton, PA. As a partner of Resysta North America Inc., SIMONA AMERICA INC. will present its new product line “SIMOWOOD” at the NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Las Vegas (February 4-6, 2014). SIMOWOOD is a genuine alternative to wood-based products – in the form of extruded sheets made of Resysta®. The polymer containing an eco-friendly filler that features rice husks is made into sheets that look and feel like real wood after sanding.
In contrast to comparable wood-based products, however, these moisture-resistant products do not swell when they are exposed to water. What is more, they are UV-resistant and even have anti-slip properties when wet. This makes the material suitable not only for indoor but also for outdoor use – while also conserving valuable resources.
Just like wood, SIMOWOOD sheets can be sawn, drilled, spray-painted or sanded. Thanks to its good deep-drawing properties, the material also lends itself to the option of thermal processing. The potential areas of application for these sheets include wall and facade elements, fences, outdoor furniture, interior car linings, sanitary fittings as well as flooring and ship decking.
At IBS 2014 SIMONA AMERICA will present the SIMOWOOD product range with sheets in thicknesses from 1 to 5 mm in sizes 2,000 x 1,000 mm and 2,500 x 1,250 mm (approx. available from Q2/2014).
