Company
Marietta, GA. Artur Hirsch has been promoted to General Manager for SIMONA AMERICA Industries, effective June 1st, 2019. Mr. Hirsch currently holds the title of Vice President of Operations.
Mr. Hirsch has been part of the SIMONA organization since 2006 and was instrumental in setting up manufacturing operations at SIMONA’s facility in Jiangmen, China, where he also held the position of Head of Operations.
“I learned during my time in China that every journey starts with the first step. SIMONA is a great company that gives you a lot of opportunities to take these steps and it is up to you to take them. The team spirit in Archbald is outstanding and it is really a pleasure to see this facility growing and have the ability to actively support it,” said Hirsch.
Mr. Hirsch’s current responsibilities include managing the strategic development of the facility, which includes staff development, operational excellence, technological upscaling, research, development, innovation, and technical best practices.
“Together with the great team in Archbald, we have established a common understanding and an action plan for future upcoming developments. The title change to General Manager enhances the importance of these strategic initiatives, which will be the focus for the next few years,” said Mr. Hirsch.
“SIMONA AMERICA Industries is proud of its ability to foster career advancement and opportunity, and wishes Artur Hirsch all the best in his new role,” said Lawrence J. Schorr, Chief Executive Officer of SIMONA AMERICA Group.
Jim Medalie, currently President of SIMONA AMERICA Industries, will retire effective June 30, 2019. Jim first joined as a board member in 2014 and then as President of the operations in Archbald, Pennsylvania, in 2015. He made significant leadership contributions to the improving performance of the factory over this period. He and his wife, Lynn, have decided that, after many years of business travel and raising a family, it was time to focus on personal travel and world exploration.
“Jim has been a positive force of stability and leadership in the very difficult task of combining and transforming two operations into a single, effective production and sales location that is continuing to improve and impress our customers. We wish Jim and Lynn a great retirement and thank both of them for their contributions,” Mr. Schorr added.
