Quality Control/Quality Assurance Lab Technician

Job Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Sample testing and organizing of finished goods and incoming raw materials
  • Maintaining clean organized workplace in the QC lab and profile area
  • Update SOPs and review, auditing and updating of testing procedures
  • Calibrations of equipment used for measuring and maintain database of all measuring devices
  • Continuously lead and implement improvement initiatives
  • Continuously develop and monitor quality trends within the business and implement the necessary plans for improvement when necessary:
  • Internal quality issues
  • Internal process issues
  • Auditing issues
  • Plan and conduct internal audits and report findings, ensuring compliance with quality management system
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action initiatives. Collect data, analyze and interpret results
  • Investigate customer complaints; implement corrective actions to prevent them from reoccurring. Maintain case management system. Communicate information promptly throughout company
  • Plan, coordinate, and conduct effective meetings as needed
  • Maintain records and manage data
  • Conduct quality checks and operate quality test equipment
  • Support daily operations with consultation on quality issues as needed
  • Complete all other projects and tasks assigned by supervisor

Requirements and Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, organizational management or related field
  • Strong experience in quality assurance, quality control, and process improvement
  • One year of manufacturing experience in plastic industry in a quality role is required

Technical Skills

  • Effective computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with ERP systems and quality-related software required
  • Knowledge of quality management systems
  • Proficient with SAP
  • Ability to manage complex projects from beginning to end, successfully balance multiple projects and ensure timely and successful project completion
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to effectively communicate technical concepts with individuals who are learning processes and procedures. This includes training others followed by testing for understanding
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to establish test plans, collect data, analyze/interpret results and make recommendations
  • Ability to operate all testing equipment, training provided
  • Ability to work independently or within a team
  • Ability to handle changing priorities

Utility Handler

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and transport pallets for production orders; check quality & weigh, etc.
  • Label, Count, Weigh, Band and Transport Finish Goods
  • Provide operators with packing supplies per production order documentation
  • Organize and clean area around assigned ‘Line(s)’
  • Support operators breaks and provide support with other tasks as requested/needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, free of hazards.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Supports extrusion operation of thermoplastic Polypropylene, PVC, Polyethylene & Co-Polymer sheets by performing the following duties.

Technical Skills

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills.

  • Ability to manage complex projects from beginning to end, successfully balance multiple projects and ensure timely and successful project completion.

Extrusion Machine Operator

 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge of different materials and products to run product properly.
  • Read and understand orders. Set up the orders. Run the orders.
  • Apply general mechanical knowledge of Extruder and downstream equipment.
  • Change gauges, speeds and coordinate changeovers in a fast paced environment.
  • Use micrometers, calipers and other quality tools to adjust dies and process accordingly.
  • Take machine apart as instructed for cleaning, replacing parts and changeovers without causing damage.
  • Keep accurate records of production performance and quality documentation.
  • Strap, band and package all finished products securely for shipping.
  • Trimming to clean all finished sheets according to procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, free of hazards.

 

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Plastics Injection Molding: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Manufacturing: 1 year (Preferred)

 

Technical Skills

  • Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • Reach with hands and arms and talk or hear
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision
