Electro Mechanical Technician

 

Conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and components. Applies knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skill in restoring equipment to operation. Provides skilled electrical/electronic and mechanical support to all areas of Production. Critical features of this job are described under the headings below. They may be subject to change at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.

 

Essential Functions

  • Apply technical knowledge of electronic and electrical principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data and test equipment.
  • Responsible for the troubleshooting and maintenance of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic and mechanical equipment.
  • Plan, direct, and record periodic electrical testing, and recommend or initiate modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards.
  • Repair, rework, and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies and systems to meet operational specifications and tolerances.
  • Perform installation, modification and start up and shut down of equipment in accordance with all company safety procedures and applicable OSHA standards.
  • Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
  • Inform appropriate team members of operations of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers.
  • Ability to utilize a variety of tools and equipment such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, ammeters, and test lamps.
  • Ability to utilize combination of skills in electrical, mechanical, and utility control systems, including a variety of PLC''s.
  • Adhere to company safety policies and procedures and applicable OSHA regulations at all times.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. 
  • Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - Steel toe boots, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, (as required per safety guidelines)

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong PLC, hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical experience and industrial skills with some HVAC.

 

Preferred Education and Experience

  • An AA degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance.
  • 3+ years working within an industrial, manufacturing environment on working with sheet lines, grinders, and maintenance equipment.

Maintenance Mechanic

 

The Maintenance Mechanic will conduct machine setup, troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance service.

 

Reports To:

  • Maintenance Manager

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine services.
  • Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.
  • Performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of extrusion processing machines. 
  • Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Complies with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report these and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work areas.

*Performs other duties as assigned or needed.

 Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Technical School education.
  • 2+ years of related experience in industrial machinery to include experience in plastic extruders and processing equipment.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. 

 

Training Requirements:

  • General Safety; Lock-out Tag-out; HAZMAT; Forklift Safety; Electrostatic Discharge Awareness; Foreign Object Damage Awareness; Quality System Awareness.
  • Other training as determined by Management

 

Physical Demands:

  • Some heavy lifting and considerable moving of equipment required.

Assistant Operator

 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and transport pallets for production orders; check quality & weight, etc.
  • Label, count, weigh, band and transport finished goods
  • Provide operators with packing supplies per production order documentation
  • Organize and clean area around assigned production lines
  • Support operators during breaks and provide support with other tasks as requested/needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, free of hazards

Machine Operator

 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Apply knowledge of different materials and products to run product properly.
  • Read and understand orders. Set up the orders. Run the orders.
  • Apply general mechanical knowledge of Extruder and downstream equipment.
  • Change gauges, speeds and coordinate changeovers in a fast paced environment.
  • Use micrometers, calipers and other quality tools to adjust dies and process accordingly.
  • Take machine apart as instructed for cleaning, replacing parts and changeovers without causing damage.
  • Keep accurate records of production performance and quality documentation.
  • Strap, band and package all finished products securely for shipping.
  • Trimming to clean all finished sheets according to procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, free of hazards.

Shipping and Receiving Associate

 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Must have a good working knowledge of part numbers and part usage and understand applications for use. Able to properly document and record orders being packaged and prepared for customer orders, recording counts, weights, item numbers, lot numbers and locations accurately.
  • Accurately document internal stock movements on the proper forms
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Prepares and expedites shipments
  • Determines labeling requirements including but not limited to: Assemble and pack product containers, preparing and affixing shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information for cartons, skids or other storage devices in an accurate manner including any special labels that are customer required
  • Proper operation of equipment to safety and productivity requirements, including but not limited to: Lift truck or hand trucks to convey, move or hoist materials to proper departments or areas
